The third way to stop Medicare scams is to report any concerns that you might have.

  1. Phone the provider. This may be the hospital, physician, care facility or anyone who received payment from Medicare. Explain your concern. They will review your records and if they billed incorrectly, they will correct the mistake and refund the money to Medicare or to you.
  2. Contact your supplemental insurance company. If Medicare overpaid, so did your Supplemental carrier, in which case they also deserve a refund.
  3. If you do not feel comfortable contacting the provider or if your concerns were not answered, call 1-800-763-2828 or click here and we will have a trained volunteer to assist you.
