Commissioner Mulready Offers Help to Oklahoma Storm Victims

OKLAHOMA CITY – Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready is offering help to those affected by this weekend’s storms and reminding Oklahomans to report damage.

“Our hearts go out to the communities impacted by tornadoes and severe weather this past weekend,” said Mulready. “As second responders, we at the Oklahoma Insurance Department are ready to help with post-disaster recovery. If you have questions about your insurance policies and coverage or need assistance with filing a claim, please reach out to our Consumer Assistance Division.”

“Our team is part of the state emergency management structure, and we are monitoring all response efforts across the state. I have been on the phone with several insurance carriers to monitor their response and exposure to communities hit hardest by the weekend storms.”

Mulready is encouraging Oklahomans impacted by damage to utilize damage.ok.gov to report their losses, even if they aren’t pursuing an insurance claim. Such reports play a crucial role in accessing disaster relief funds.

If you need assistance after this weekend’s storms, please call the Oklahoma Insurance Department Consumer Assistance Division at 800-522-0071. You can also find more information about preparing for storms and reviewing your insurance coverage at oid.ok.gov/get-ready.
